Discord
📖 First time? How to create your Discord bot — step by step (about 3 minutes)

What a "bot" is: it's a Discord account we run on your behalf. It posts your kill feed, runs your shop and events, and does the in-game admin. You create it once (it's free), tell us its token, and we host and run it 24/7. You never have to keep anything online yourself.

  1. Open discord.com/developers/applications and log in with your normal Discord account.
  2. Click New Application (top-right), name it after your server, agree, and click Create.
  3. In the left menu click Bot → Reset Token → confirm → Copy. Paste that into the Bot token box below. This is the bot's password — keep it secret. We store it encrypted and never show it again.
  4. Still on the Bot page, scroll to Privileged Gateway Intents and switch ON both Server Members Intent and Message Content Intent, then Save Changes. (Without these your bot can't read chat or see who's in your server.)
  5. Left menu → OAuth2 → URL Generator. Tick bot and applications.commands. In the Bot Permissions box that appears, tick Administrator (simplest and recommended). Copy the long URL at the very bottom, open it in a new tab, choose your Discord server, and click Authorize. Your bot is now in your server.

To copy IDs (needed just below): in Discord go to Settings → Advanced and turn on Developer Mode. Now you can right-click your server name → Copy Server ID, and right-click any channel → Copy Channel ID.

⚠️ DO NOT SKIP THIS — or your bot won't work On your bot's Bot page, turn Message Content Intent to ON (and Server Members Intent too), then click Save Changes. It takes 10 seconds. If you skip it, your bot stays offline and nothing works. The 📖 guide right above shows you the exact button.
Your SCUM server (FTP)
We use this to read your kill/chat logs and to install the bridge mod on your server for you — so you never have to touch server files. Stored encrypted, used only for your bot.
📖 Where do I find my FTP details? (they're in your game host's control panel)

Your FTP login is set by whoever you rent your SCUM server from (4NetPlayers, GGHost, Nitrado, GTX, PingPerfect, etc.). It is not something you make up here.

  1. Log into your game host's website / control panel (the one you pay for your server through).
  2. Find the section called FTP, FTP Access, File Access or File Manager for your SCUM server.
  3. It will show a host (an address or IP), a port (usually 21 for FTP or 22 for SFTP), a username and a password. Copy each into the matching box below.
  4. If your panel says SFTP instead of FTP, pick SFTP in the "Connection type" box above and the port will switch to 22.

Can't find it? Your host's support (or a quick "SCUM <host name> FTP details" search) will point you to it. If you're stuck, sign up anyway and email us — we'll help you finish this one field.

These accounts get full in-game admin — start with your own. You can change the list later from Discord. Don't know your SteamID64? Paste your Steam profile link into steamid.io and copy the 17-digit steamID64.
